This year, Proximity Pictures had the great fortune of securing the contract to cover the first IslamExpo event - the biggest event to raise awareness on Islam in Europe so far. With a crew of eight people, the seminars were recorded live. Proximity Pictures also worked closely with Carlos Soto to produce a commercial for The Islam Channel, Al Jazeera and ARY Digital.
Music and Drama
After working with Sarah Sayeed on Homesick, Proximity Pictures had the priveledge of recording her solo performance of Motherdust at the Contact Theatre in Manchester. We also worked with Robina Islam on her Arts based music videos and several other private clients.
Short Film - Echoes of an Argument
With the help of a fantastic group of actors and crew, Proximity Pictures developed and shot two short films privately funded on micro budgets. The first 2 minute short starring Camille Scipio with a cameo apperance from her mother Pamela Ahluwahlia was shot in a few hours with one location. It dealt with regret and death.
Short Film - Homesick
The second, Homesick was shot starring Sarah Sayeed and Ghulam Dastgir. It featured debut perfermances from Liam James Davies and Camille Scipio. Camille´s younger sister, Pascale, joined her on set to act as a bully on the canal. Stage and screen actress, Francesca Marie Claire also appeared in Homesick as the leader of the pack.
